This is the latest step in DW's dedication to keeping our customers' trust, security and privacy.
Cerritos, CA (September 30, 2024) –
Digital Watchdog® (DW), the industry leader in digital recorders, surveillance cameras, system peripherals and related management software, announces the successful completion of a System and Organization Controls (SOC) 2 Type I audit. Developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the SOC 2 information security audit examines the controls relevant to the trust services criteria categories covering security. Digital Watchdog was issued a "clean" audit opinion performed by an independent third-party auditor.
“DW Cloud and DW Spectrum are developed with robust security measures in place”, said Patrick Kelly Senior Director of Strategy at DW “Obtaining this SOC 2 Type 1 attestation, DW Spectrum users can rest assured that our cloud-based services are held to the highest security standards and that their data is secure."
The SOC2 Type 1 attests to DW's adherence to strict security and privacy requirements and affirms the following:
- Protecting Privacy
DW is committed to privacy through the implementation of strict policies and practices. This includes clear and transparent approaches to data collection, usage, retention, and disclosure that respect user consent.
- Strict measures to prevent Unauthorized Access
Measures have been put in place by DW to secure DW's platform from any unauthorized entry. There are several robust access controls, identity management systems and verification mechanisms to guarantee only the proper individuals can access sensitive information.
- Confidentiality of Customer Data
DW places a high priority on the confidentiality of user data through rigorous data classification and handling practices. This includes employing encryption techniques, secure data storage solutions, and stringent access controls to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive information.
- High Availability of Systems
DW ensures maximum system uptime through well-defined business continuity plans, incident response protocols, and disaster recovery strategies. Our system architecture is built to be fault-tolerant and redundant, supported by regular testing and maintenance to guarantee reliability.
DW will continue to monitor the controls measured in this audit with the goal of completing a SOC2 Type II compliance in the near future.
